As some of you may know, I’ve been shooting wildlife (on camera) for over twenty years, and so I’ve decided to give back some of that time, and learning curve, in the form of a Handbook.
The Handbook is for those who may just be starting out on this wild, beautiful, and unpredictable journey, and hopefully it will help provide some heard-earned, and hard- learned knowledge to smooth the road.
The Handbook covers all aspects of the film-making process, from the crucial storytelling phases, though to camerawork, post-production, pitching to broadcasters, even driving skills and safety in the wild. The Handbook is also liberally sprinkled with links to video clips that highlight, or demonstrate some of the facts, or techniques.
Below is just a brief glimpse of the intro – the first of 250 pages of information-packed material.
The Handbook of Wildlife Film Making , by yours truly, Robert C Waldron, is going to be available in e-book from Amazon and directly from this site via my email waldrons@icon.co.za. You’ll also be able to preview it and buy it on iBooks, within the next month, so watch this space.
